Major Relationships Account Manager – High Value

The Major Relationships Account Manager – High Value role is an existing position within the Major Relationships team. The position includes personal responsibility for stewardship of a portfolio of major donors and charitable trusts alongside a new business income target. The emphasis of this role is on written communication through funding appeals and creating relationship building opportunities at events and through one-to-one meetings.  

The Major Relationships team is a successful and growing part of the Fundraising and Communications Directorate and the Major Relationships Account Manager is a key player within the team. The successful candidate will also be involved in coordinating events at equestrian shows across the UK, as well as events staged by the Brooke, so a knowledge or empathy of horse riding or the equestrian world would be an advantage. 

We are looking for someone with a successful track record of working with individual donors in the context of personal philanthropy or within a trust fundraising role. The successful candidate will have a confident and persuasive nature and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.  

The role requires exemplary communication and relationship management skills with the ability to utilise a variety of sources, including the Brooke’s networks, to deliver a strong new business pipeline. The post holder must also have excellent written communication skills as they will write funding proposals, grant applications and reports.

The role involves an outward facing approach so being able to telephone supporters and prospects, travel across the UK to meet and follow-up with first class stewardship is essential.  

You will have demonstrable experience of working in a charity fundraising team generating income from companies, trusts or major individual donors.
