We are looking for a Gift Aid and Fundraising Compliance Manager who will ensure Brooke continues maximise Gift Aid income by accurately communicating the Gift Aid scheme in relevant supporter communications, ensuring we have robust internal processes to store and process data and make accurate Gift Aid claims and that staff are fully aware of the Gift Aid rules and best practice. 

This role will also ensure that the Fundraising and Communications Team (FundComm) are working to the requirements of various regulations, legislation and codes of conduct that relate to fundraising and the charity sector. The role will be responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and adherence to the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice across the department. 

This role is vital enabling us to continue to fund projects to reach over 2 million working horses, donkeys and mules across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

This role will report to the Head of FundComm Compliance and Supporter Experience and directly line manage a FundComm Compliance Officer and will work collegiately with the Fundcomm team to ensure that Brooke are compliant with relevant Gift Aid/HMRC rules, fundraising legislation and regulatory frameworks. This will enable Brooke to continue to deliver compliant, effective, high quality fundraising that always puts our supporters at the heart of what we do. 

We are looking for someone with a very strong knowledge of the Gift Aid scheme and associated rules coupled with experience of working to and upskilling staff on fundraising compliance requirements and a solid understanding of the legal and regulatory framework the charity sector works to. 

Excellent organisation and project management skills will be required to traffic projects to completion with a range of stakeholders ensuring that the day-to-day delivery and monitoring of the Gift Aid scheme and reporting, fundraising codes, legislation and regulation are on track.  

The successful applicant will have a good understanding of the Gift Aid scheme (and associated rules), data protection, legal and regulatory frameworks in a fundraising context combined with excellent communication skills as they will need to communicate technical, legal and regulatory information to staff with varying levels of understanding in an engaging manner.  

The role will ensure Fundcomm teams empowered and equipped to meet their compliance responsibilities. They will be expected to manage their time and tasks effectively, traffic work from other teams, keep up-to-date with changes in fundraising regulation and have the skills to communicate to others in a relevant manner.
